If you’re looking for an action packed side-scrolling shooter, you’ve found it in Red Code. Choosing from four different weapons, you must traverse alien terrains, wiping out the oncoming hordes of villains. When things get hairy you can also make a break for your ship, where you can fire off rounds from a high powered laser.

Nice graphics and great sound effects really add to the package of Red Code.

Red Code Instructions:
Use WASD to jump and run and mouse to shoot aliens on foot or from the mothership.

Robokill

Robokill is an excellent overhead shooter, complete with tight controls, nice sprite graphics, and hectic shooting action. You can upgrade your equipment, and buy and sell goods at the shop, on your mission to exterminate the creeper crawlies and other foul denizens befouling your space.

Rambo – The Fight Continues

Featuring some high quality clips from the most recent Rambo flick, the fight continues for Rambo as he enters a hostile jungle, surrounded on all sides by gun toting bad guys. As levels progress, Rambo must switch his viewpoint constantly to avoid getting caught from behind or the sides, making for a frenetic and tense experience. The Primitive – You’re invading a native outpost, and the natives aren’t angry, as the arrows whistling by your ears from their bows will attest. You must run, jump, and shoot natives in the head to succeed in The Primitive platformer romp through the jungle.

Pop Pirates

Pop Pirates is an overhead 2-D shooter, with bright and crisp graphics. The control is spot on, and the gameplay simple and enjoyable fun. Your mission is to destroy the viruses infesting your computer, and collect the KB they drop after being ‘deleted’. Additional powerups can be picked up to up your firepower and virus killing acumen.

Instructions:
Use your mouse to manoeuvre your spaceman and left click to fire. Pick up all the bonuses and power ups as you go along.

The Last Canopy

An overhead shooter, like so many classics of the genre, The Last Canopy is a great homage to that since dead staple of gaming. Controls are simple and intuitive, and the action is fast, all of it accompanied some outstanding music. If you’re tired of the same old zombie blasting shooters, The Last Canopy is a must try.

Boomstick

Boomstick is a shooter with a touch of innovation, as you must shoot enemies in groups to earn larger bonuses. Enemies drop huge caches of ammo which must be constantly picked up to yield larger shots with better capacity to take down multiple foes. Cute shooter that bucks the trend of the many blood fests out there.

Boomstick Instructions:
Movement: Arrow Keys or A & D
Shoot: Mouse Button

Tip: Pick up the small white blocks. This is ammo, without it the game will end.

Joe’s Farm

Sheep are running rampant, and the only thing left to do is shoot the poor innocent creatures in the head. Joe’s Farm is a first person shooter in the vein of Duck Hunt, with sheep popping up in great numbers all over his farmland. The only real objective is to score points, so shoot away with reckless abandon.

Very simple, use your mouse to aim and the left mouse button to shoot.

Boxhead More Rooms

Boxhead More Rooms is a very addictive and fun overhead shooter. You begin with a trusty pistol, and through slaying the zombie like creatures stalking you, you can upgrade to Uzi’s, shotguns, and more. Enemies grow more difficult in later levels, and you also have a chain meter to keep filled up, which increases the amount of points earned. Boxhead is a great time for fans of shooting games.

Zombie Grinder 60000

Zombie Grinder 60000 is a fast paced side scrolling shooter, which borrows Matrix-like slow motion effects to up the intensity. Unlike many shooters, your basic ammo is limited, and must be replenished by finding the ammo clips scattered around the levels. Be sure to conserve ammo, as if you run out, zombies will have your legs for lunch.

Zombie Grinder 60000 Tip: Since you’re playing a big fat guy, he can’t jump all the time. To keep your jumps high and springy, you’ll have to run a few steps between every jump.
